As a nutraceuticals company headquartered in India, with a U.S. office in New Jersey, our client is a  global leader in health and wellness, providing natural products, foods, and supplements. The company’s unique mission, needs, and global presence has many moving pieces that require oversight.

Overview

Neil Bagchi and the client first met at a networking event in 2007. At the time, Neil hadn’t founded Bagchi Law and was working for another firm. The client was instantly impressed with Neil, and he soon began representing the company. When Neil founded Bagchi Law, they followed him and became one of our first clients. 

Challenge

After their initial conversation, Neil learned that the client was looking for a team to handle their smaller transactions. They needed counsel that understood their Indian practice but could provide advice on U.S. and global matters.    

Solution

When approaching this client, we knew that innovation and a client-centric strategy would be the fundamental values to improve efficiency. Our solution had to consider the needs of the foreign and domestic offices.

With Bagchi Law's counsel, the client has secured private equity funding and successfully navigated commercial contracts and negotiations. The team has also supported the company in developing global policy on anti-corruption, charitable giving, and whistleblowing; while advising on tax strategy and filing intellectual property and trademark licensing. In turn, the client's company has grown tremendously over the years and is currently valued at approximately $250 million.
